Use Case: Rapid SAP HANA Migration to AWS Protects Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Court Square Group rapidly migrated NeoPharma’s business-critical SAP HANA environment to AWS after issues involving a third-party data center threatened continued access to its infrastructure. The solution protected business continuity, supported a controlled transition to qualified infrastructure, and established AWS as an ongoing disaster recovery and backup platform.
THE CLIENT
NeoPharma, a life sciences company that relies on SAP HANA to support critical business operations.
THE CHALLENGE
Financial and operational issues involving a third-party data center provider created an urgent risk to NeoPharma’s SAP HANA environment. Court Square Group had less than one month to establish an alternative hosting platform and preserve access to the company’s SAP systems.
THE SOLUTION
Court Square Group migrated NeoPharma’s SAP HANA environment from the at-risk on-premises infrastructure to AWS, which served as the production platform during the continuity event. After qualified infrastructure was established at CSG-NY2, Court Square Group completed a controlled production cutover to the data center while retaining AWS for disaster recovery and backup.
The transition included SAP and production database backups, secure data transfer and restoration, IPsec tunnel validation, network testing, and a documented backout plan that allowed the AWS environment to be restored if needed.
THE RESULTS
NeoPharma’s SAP HANA environment was moved to AWS within the emergency timeframe, reducing the immediate third-party hosting risk and preserving a viable production platform. The resulting hybrid model combines qualified primary infrastructure at CSG-NY2 with AWS-based disaster recovery and backup, improving infrastructure separation, recoverability, and business resilience.
